“O2 por la vida” Members Lead Successful Reforestation Project in Las Palmas

In recent years, environmental issues have become increasingly important, and more and more people are taking action to protect the planet. In Las Palmas, a group of activists from different NGOs and active local citizens have come together to form “O2 por la vida” (O2 for life), an organization committed to reforestation and conservation of the environment.

One of the most remarkable achievements of the group is the reforestation project carried out in “La Feria,” a place that used to be an old landfill. The city government covered the hill of trash with soil, and the area was left abandoned for years, creating a barren and polluted landscape.

However, the members of “O2 por la vida” saw an opportunity to transform the area and turn it into a green oasis. With the help of local citizens and other NGOs, they cleaned up the area and planted more than 200 different local plants, including trees, shrubs, and flowers.

The reforestation project was a success, and the results are impressive. Today, “La Feria” is a thriving ecosystem with a variety of plants and wildlife. The air is cleaner, and the area is more pleasant to be in. Moreover, the project has become a symbol of hope for the community, inspiring others to take action and protect the environment.

“O2 por la vida” is a shining example of what can be achieved when people come together to work towards a common goal. Their dedication and hard work have transformed a polluted and abandoned area into a vibrant and green space, demonstrating that reforestation is possible and that everyone can contribute to the protection of our planet.

We hope that the success of “O2 por la vida” will inspire others to take action and join the fight for the environment. We all have a responsibility to protect the planet and ensure a better future for ourselves and future generations.
