In Las Palmas, a group of activists from different NGOs and active local citizens have come together to form &#8220;O2 por la vida&#8221; (O2 for life), an organization committed to reforestation and conservation of the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most remarkable achievements of the group is the reforestation project carried out in &#8220;La Feria,&#8221; a place that used to be an old landfill. The city government covered the hill of trash with soil, and the area was left abandoned for years, creating a barren and polluted landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the members of &#8220;O2 por la vida&#8221; saw an opportunity to transform the area and turn it into a green oasis. With the help of local citizens and other NGOs, they cleaned up the area and planted more than 200 different local plants, including trees, shrubs, and flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reforestation project was a success, and the results are impressive. Today, &#8220;La Feria&#8221; is a thriving ecosystem with a variety of plants and wildlife. The air is cleaner, and the area is more pleasant to be in. Moreover, the project has become a symbol of hope for the community, inspiring others to take action and protect the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;O2 por la vida&#8221; is a shining example of what can be achieved when people come together to work towards a common goal. Their dedication and hard work have transformed a polluted and abandoned area into a vibrant and green space, demonstrating that reforestation is possible and that everyone can contribute to the protection of our planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope that the success of &#8220;O2 por la vida&#8221; will inspire others to take action and join the fight for the environment.
